Station disorder accused in court
Twelve men charged with violent disorder after a clash between football fans and police at Newcastle Central Station have appeared in court.
Police had gathered after receiving reports that fans from Newcastle and Sunderland had arranged to meet on 8 August.
Three fans and four police dogs were hurt during the disorder.
The men, aged between 21 and 51, entered no plea at Sunderland Magistrates' Court.
They will appear at Newcastle Crown Court later this month.
