North Bar

My friends and i had had a brilliant night out until we got to North Bar. I completely agree with some of the other reviewers that this bar thinks it is something its not and is up itself!  A small, well dressed mixed group, none of us drunk or rowdy, we were turned away, initially with no explanation. When i was eventually given an explanation, the doorman said "its a student bar".

Two of my friends are students, neither had been asked for student identification. There are far better and classier bars in town, and North Bar deserves to be avoided. The management should remember that in a time of recession, when bars are closing every week,  people will not put up with unnecessary and misguided attitudes, and will vote with their feet. North Bar will become another statistic.

My kind of bar! They dont let in groups of lads or anyone who is deemed too pissed. One of the few places who aren't afraid of knocking back the groups of idiots so that the people who want to go out and enjoy a civilised drink or two can do without any hassle.

Also one of the very few places open til 2am every night where you can sit and chat and not have to shout over the music. It is terribly expensive but it makes the drinks taste better.

This bar is totally up it's own *ss! The bouncers only let in who they want and even suggested to me and a group of friends it was a members bar only even though I have been drinking there for years (I suspect it was because our group had some people over 30 in it).

If you don't look like you're part of the 'in crowd', i.e. fashion students or hairdressers, then you probably won't get in and to be honsest it's not worth the effort.

hey chris i know what u mean bout the door staff they are so rough and im a girl lol just horrile by the way they act you would think the bar was some top class VIP bar instead of some small dark scruffy bar that smells like and old sponge lol

I love North Bar! Its the perfect location right next to central station. very chilled but super cool, good atmosphere, a little bit underground, not for everyone, very cool crowd think kings of leon to katie perry. i always find myself stealing styles of every1 in there!
friendly staff good drinks, provides an all round slice of funky one of my saturday night favourites but a perfect threw the week date place.
